Prem Mandir in Vrindavan

Lord Krishna, who is the eighth incarnation or purna-avatara of Lord Vishnu, lived his childhood and youth in Vrindavan, Mathura (UP). Since then this place became holy land. Everyday thousands of devotees visit this precious land to take blessings of great Lord Krishna. In Vrindavan, many marvelous temples and historic monuments has developed. One of the prominent temple among them is Prem Mandir. Amazing in style, this temple is brilliantly carved with symbolic meanings behind every pillars. This great temple is created by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. The natives of Vrindavan have expressed their gratitude and love towards Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj every now and then for this precious gift to Vrindavan. Prem Mandir Timings

Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj was a Hindu spiritual leader and the fifth divine personality in 5000 years of Indian history and was honored with the title of Jagadguru. Indeed he has millions of followers and sisyas. He has written many inspiring verses and was great believer in Lord Krishna and Radha. Many of his verses and Kirtans are written and revealed the divine pastimes of Radha Krishna.

In devotion towards Shree Radha Krishna, he built this fabulous and splendid Prem Mandir. The word “Prem” means love and this is “temple of love” of Shree Radha Krishna. On February 17, 2012, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj inaugurated this amazing temple at 11 am. Built with rigorous and hard-work by 1000 workers from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, this temple took 11 years to complete with an expense of Rs 150 crore. In 2001, the foundation stone of this temple was laid by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj and this event was attended by many devotees from all across the place. This temple was constructed in 54 acres with its height of 125 feet, length 122 feet and 155 feet wide.

Lord Krishna took the center place in this temple. Prem Mandir is artistic in design and unique in style. It is ornamented with Italian marble decorated with 94 crafted pillars along with beautifully constructed outer walls which is crafted with Prem Ras Mandir paragraphs which is written by Kripaluji Maharaj. Both internal and external datum has brilliant architectural craft and mosaic floor. Unique in style, this temple has other center of attractions as well which attracts many tourists and visitors to this place. And these center of attractions are its beautiful and sprawling garden, Govardhan Parvat which is designed with excellent craftsmanship, amazing Musical fountains, Shree Radha Krisha tableaux, Shree Govardhan Leela and therefore the Kaalia Naag Daman Leela. Every nook and corner of this great temple is vibrant and colorful and maintained by the authority in same spirit. On visit, one can attain the ultimate peace and calm.

Prem Mandir in Vrindavan Timings


This temple remains open every day between 5:30 am to 8:30 am and timings of Darshan are as follows:

05:30 a.m.- Mangla (Morning) Darshan. Perform Aarti and Parikrama
06:30 a.m.- Bhog Darshan and Bhog door close
08:30 a.m.- Shringar Darshan and Aarti
11:30 a.m. - Bhog
12:00 noon - Shayan Aarti and Temple door Closes
4:30 p.m. - Evening Darshan and Aarti
5:30 p.m. - Bhog
8:00 p.m. - Shayan Aarti
8:15 p.m. - Shayan Darshan
8:30 p.m. - Temple door Closes

Musical fountain along with light show timings are between 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. People are mesmerized by the patterns which are brilliantly made by the colored lighting and water swinging, twisting and shooting out from water jets in the massive fountain placed inside the temple campus. This pattern follows the ragas of the blissful kirtans of Shree Radha Krishna which is played at background. This show is majestic and blissful.

How to Reach Prem Mandir in Vrindavan


There is no entry fee to enter this temple. There is easy connectivity from Agra (which is approx 70 km distance on NH2) and Delhi (which is approx 145 km distance on NH2). Mathura Junction (MTJ) is the nearest railway station which is at distance 10.5 km from temple. You can avail both rickshaw and auto to reach this place from railway station. Fares are not much; rickshaw will charge Rs 30-40 per person and so autowallah. From Mathura Railway Station there are 2 ways to reach this temple and you can take either way as per your preference. One way will take you inside the city of Mathura through Bhuteshwar road which is via Birla Temple and just after Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg and you will find Prem Mandir. Other way is through High-Way (National Highway 2). At Chatikara large statue of Goddess Durga is landmark), go towards Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg and you will reach Prem Mandir. Also note that the nearest airport is Agra Airport which is at 75 km distance.
